'Earth Retains the Memories…
…of Our Ancient Myths and Folklore’, is the working title for these mixed media pieces.
I firmly believe that the landscape holds within it, the memories of our ancient history and have always attempted to communicate this through my work, to convey that the landscape we live within is far more than purely its physical appearance.
In this series of works, each piece relates to a specific myth or piece of folklore. However, I feel that the memories are communicated just on the edge of our consciousness, subliminally, so I felt it was important for each image to work as a landscape in and of itself.
The titles are either the place name where the myth originates or contain another hint and within each piece there is subtle, almost ghostlike imagery that directly illustrates each story.
